Lightweight all Mountain Machine

Hi,
I'm looking to upgrade my Blue Pig into more of an aggressive all mountain machine for some big tours I've got lined up. I love her how she is but I have some European Big Mountain Rides in the pipeline so I'm wanting something with roughly 130mm of travel, light as possible but something I can really throw around.
I weigh around 65kg and I'm 5"4' so can get away with a pretty light build. Any suggestions, I've looked at the Trek Fuel, Lapierre Zesty, Yeti ASR, Transition Bandit amongst others.
I'm happy to salvage parts from my current build, currently Deore XT cranks, Mavic XM319 rims build onto DMR hubs, Avid Juicy's and some RaceFace finishing kit.
Naturally would like to spend as little as possible, don't mind buying frame only or a full build. Any thoughts, opinions/suggestions would be welcomed.
Thanks,
Adam

I have a remedy frame going live on ebay tonight at 9pm ish. Take a look at that buying a frame and salvaging parts will deffinately be the cheapest way to go.Yeti SB66c 20130

Brilliant, do you have the link/what size is it? Budget is as low as possible, max £500 for the frame probably.A Lawton0

just so you know the frame is a virtual 17.5 which means the actual measurement is 16.3"Yeti SB66c 20130

A 130mm travel bike is not exactly an agressive all mountain bike, I would rather take the blue pig to the alps.
If you want a cheap frame which will take a beating and make you grin like an idiot have a look at the Giant Reign, Specialized Enduro, Orange 5 or Scott Genius.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
The Orange 5 was another consideration, I'm stuck as i want a bike that will handle Euro trips but the majority of my riding is UK bridleways/Trial Centers.A Lawton0

what did you think of the remedy?Yeti SB66c 20130

Looking a bit desperate to shift that Remedy there. Four posts with no response :roll:Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

The newer (2012 +) Trek Fuel EX might be OK due to its more relaxed geom but I don't think you'll find a frame for £500. Maybe some of the older Fuels may come in budget but then the geom becomes too steep to consider it as an all mountain machine. Out of the ones you listed the Zesty fits the bill the best and most likely to find in budget.
Otherwise I'd be looking at usual suspects as suggested by RockMonkeySC.0 -
A £500 budget is pretty slender... But I'm sure you could get an older 150mm travel carbon Scott Genius which will build up incredibly light, and you could stick in an angleset to knock the head angle back for Euro riding. It's adjustable travel would give you a good range of options for bridleways and trail centres too.0

Given your budget, if you want full suss I'd be looking at something like a SC Heckler - but longer travel than you state but a solid, simple, chuckable bike and one you can pick up for cheap prices (potentially)
Stumpy FSR might be another possible option but you prob want a later model.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
commencal meta sx although it might fail slightly on the lightweight aspect...0

Special Blend is stonking value, reckon you'd really struggle to do better.0 -
Never seen that before. So is the special blend just a cheap full build version using the ibis mojo sl frame? or does it have a different frame too?0

Same frame, X-Fusion fork and shock are the obvious weak links from an image perspective, if not performance.0
