Pressure Washer To Clean??

Hi all,
Getting back into MTB after several years of hiatus. Since I stopped, pressure washers have become commonplace and I've heard/read mixed opinions about whether they're suitable to wash down bikes.
What do you guys think? It seems to me it's a bad idea in case the water gets into bearings etc. But by the same token, it's such a convenient way of washing it down after a muddy ride!
Is it OK???
Alex

A low power hose would be fine.2011 Carrera Fury

Or use your pressure washer on low power spray and keep it away from the bearings.0 -
Just don't spray it into bearings.
Although I don't see what's wrong with a brush attachment on the hose though. I put in a couple of soap sticks and Bobs your Uncle.0 -
Depends whether you mean a powered sprayer you can keep in the car or a high pressure washer.I don't do smileys.

Megs APC and a garden hose works for me. No need for a pressure washer IMO.__________________

Like has been said, I use a pressure washer, but on low power and use it on the frame and my rims then go into all the fiddle bits with a brush and hose. I steer well clear of aiming it directly at any pivot or bearing0

Exactly, it's also the only thing that gets tyres properly clean from clay.0

Ditto that - had a horrendous clay field ride the other night and there was no way I'd have got the bike clean in any reasonable timeframe without the use of my pressure washer.
Don't tend to use it if I can help it though
