Hiya i've just sold my Trek which i bought 10 years ago for £500.
Looking at a 2nd hand bike, seems to be SO MANY Cube Attention's for sale on eBay, has made me wary why this is.
I'd love a Kona as i rode a Nunu at the MTB champs in Dalby Forest last yr for transport to the course.
Hardly any of those around, are these Cube's not cut out for good off road use?

The budget Cubes are not that good really - have some heavy kit on them, and usually very basic forks.
£500 buys you this new:

Nothing comes close for this cash.0 -
Thanks Supersonic, that confirms it then really, so the frames are alright it's just the components.
Would you recommend a bike like this.... http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/products.p ... 1b0s2p2458
The Rockrider does look like a good buy, but imagewise i don't think it's for me.
Watching this Cube to see what it goes for, specwise it seems to be a bargain, but absolutely no bids is a bit interesting http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CUBE-TEAM-LTD ... 741wt_11860 -
The GT is a very good buy - sturdier than the Cube or Rockrider, but a bit heavy.0

Thanks i really appreciate this advice, i'm a regular rider but haven't looked at new bikes in a while til now. I agree i reckon the GT would be pretty heavy...
I just know i need to get serious now because it's been about 1 month i've been without a bike now0 -
It is a good buy if you are a heavy rider, or plan to hit the trails harder - it will take a 130mm fork too.0

Hmm, this could be the downfall....i only weigh just under 12 stone...... i do hit the trails hard though, no point messing around and i love a good scary jump or three on the trail!
Saying that my Trek was a Cromoly skinny frame with 45mm RockShox, so anything will be an upgrade over that haha!0
