Sram Rival shifters fouling on fingers when braking

Hi, have just bought a new bike with Sram rival shifters, the problem seems to be that when two finger braking from the hoods the gear paddle jams down into my fingers, I can brake with a full hand but then you loose a bit of control, its as though the paddle is to wide and too high, anyone else experienced this and how did you fix it, have tried braking from the drops but cannot change gear at all, have used shimano for the last 10 years without even thinking about it. I have adjusted the brake lever in towards the bars which helped gearchanges from the drops but made braking from the hoods worse...Other than that I'm having a blast.

Sorry but I also have no idea what you are talking about :) Rival levers can be adjusted for reach but I'm wondering whether you just have a "unique" approach to breaking/holding the bars/hoods which you could maybe adjust rather than get the screwdriver out.

your fingers are in the wrong place if you are jamming them behind the brake/shifters, also you might need to look at your break pads or caliper position if you are managing to pull the levers so close to the drops...I use sram and I can only think the issue is you not the equipment... :D

I think i know what your on about although like everyone else i don't have this problem. Yep, you need to adjust them so they don't come as close to the bars when you brake
