Hi

I got a few prices on bikes and was wondering which is better that the other.
Its a bike 2 work scheme and id €1000 + a bit if needed on the bike.

Ive looked at Cube Acid and LTD
and also
Ridley Trailfire http://www.ridley-bikes.com/pd/fi/en.../mtb/trailfire

And A sweet Ridley Ignite for more than the €1000.

(carbon Frame)

For trail biking and road biking which would be compared to be the better.
What components are regarded as the most trustworthy

I have a month or 2 to investigate

Why those? Seem rather pricy for very average spec.

  • The trailfire is €650 where i am and the ignite is €1499 but €1499 is above my budget. The Cubes are between €850 and €1100. The reason for selecting these to investigate is because they are available locally to me.

For my €1000 ish budget what would u recommend.

Where are you? Most people here are in the UK - prices and spec differ elsewhere.

That's pretty close, honourary UK I think - I've just never seen them before so can't be very common here.
Do you have Decathlon over there - if so worth looking at the Rockrider range, or Voodoo from Halfords.

    Hi,
Cooldad to answer your question we get even more screwed than the UK on bikes prices because most of our bikes come via UK distributors so have the extra shipping to Ireland step. No Decathlon, worth trying some of the online bike shops base in Dublin for deals though.
  • Hi Bikehawk,

because its a bike to work scheme i'll buy from a shop. Maybe get 2012 model cheaper when the new lot come in.
My local shop has a Ridley Blaster for under the €1k. That looks decent. The Cubes are similar in price and a little heavier.
