First bike ordered!

I have just bought my first road bike, a Specialized Allez Sport 2012. Roll on Wednesday when it SHOULD arrive.....

Congratulations, but you should be aware, it's a slippery slope. There's pedals, shoes, bottle cages, cycle computers, helmets, padded shorts, jerseys, jackets, gloves, the list goes on. And then there is the time away from home, as your rides get longer. It's brilliant, enjoy!

On a serious note, make sure you have some essential kit when you go out:
Helmet
Fully charged mobile phone
Your emergency contact (ICE) phone numbers on you
Spare inner tube
Pump or CO2
Tire levers
Emergency £10 or credit card
Water or squash to drink
For longer rides, something to eat, a banana, fig biscuits or a jam sandwich
