Look at the positives; you've been out on your bike for the first time in 18 months and you've set a new PB that you can look forward to beating next time.0

Why would you do much more for your first ride in 18 months? Just ease yourself in, don't get injured, you'll be out again in a day or two rather than busting yourself and walking like John Wayne for 4 days. Keep it up.All the above is just advice .. you can do whatever the f*ck you wana do!

565 feet of climbing in 10 miles is a reasonable amount - so this will slow you down considerably. 12.2 mph as an average isn't bad starting out again.0

I took a friend out for his first cycle in a while today - 8 miles took nearly an hour. I was rather bored.....
Don't get annoyed by being slow though. You WILL get faster, it WILL get easier, and you WILL enjoy it much more!

I am the opposite. I quite enjoyed taking my mate out for his first ride because I could take it nice and easy and enjoy the countryside more.
Plus I really liked the part where he was huffing and puffing his way up a little hill (he is a smoker) and I wasn't at all out of breath.Cube Agree GTC Pro
