I am in the process of converting my straight bar Cube Hooper with it's Alfine 11 spd hub to drop bars. Question, as the Alfine is not a derailleur (I know, hub is a bit of a clue), which Ride-On cable type - Brake or Derailleur is the right or correct choice for a hub gear?

You need a gear cable with an end that's compatible with your shifter.

You know you need an Alfine specific shifter right? AFAIK the versa shifters are still the only alfine compatible brifters for drop bars (sorry if I'm teaching granny to suck eggs).

    Cheers Godders1,
Yes, I know that I am extremely limited in only having the one choice of levers (very limited in outlets as well, it's not a high volume seller!) Recent news that Shimano are releasing a Di2 version for the Alfine is only rubbing salt into the wound, what's wrong with a nice Shimano manual (cheaper, practical) option? Cannot imagine how much Di2 will cost.

Yeah Di2 alfine would be lovely but probably out of my price range too!

I have the Versa 8 shifters, they've performed well so far.
