Removing energy drink colouring from polypropylene bottle

I was a bit miffed when my brand new transparent camelback podium bottle was instantly stained yellow on first use by whatever food colouring chemical was in the energy drink I was using...

I've changed my brand of energy drink but the colour is still there. Any tips to remove it? The bottle is made out of polypropylene (PP, plastic #5). I thought of trying bleach but google tells me that PP and bleach might not be a good idea.

I could just live with it of course, but it bugs me..

Note to self...buy coloured bottles :-)

Note to self.... do not buy over priced and futile energy drinks, just loads of food colour and hype 8)
    Yellow is the new Black.

Transparent bottles do have the distinct advantage that you can see what's in them (and how much is left).

But your second point (or the first part of your second point) is well taken (energy drinks are hardly futile...) - sometime I will get around to buying some bulk containers of powdered glucose, dextrose, potassium etc and make up my own..

Try Milton baby bottle cleaning fluid or Steradent tablets.

Buy the Sainsburys own brand baby bottle sterilising fluid.

Its a heck of a lot cheaper and does a great job. I do all my bottles once a week and the smell / staines are gone.

Normal household bleach + hot water, leave a while and then ensure wash out very thoroughly, until any odour of bleach is gone
