Righto, i run a 10 spd shimano mech with 9 spd shifters on my cross bike fine but can i do the same on my mountainbike with Sram components?

The lan is to run a new type 2 X9 10spd rear mech with older 9spd X0 gripshifts, can this be done easily?

thanks i advance

Nope. The pull ratio not the same. They changed it for MTB 10spd.

I'm told the road 10 speed mechs will work with the SRAM 9 speed shifters though......need to check the max teeth sizing/ranges though!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

The ratio is similar but not the same the pull is now equal as opposed to being varied. Yes it can "work" but is not allingned correctly over some cogs.

SRAM has/had the info on their webby.
