Any good Mountain bike clubs in Kent or Surrey?

I want to get back into bike riding but i'm struggling to find any mountain bike clubs. The only bike clubs i can find are the general road/race bike clubs. Does anyone know of any mountain bike clubs where other like minded people go too, to ride their bikes off road?

There are plenty of groups that ride the Surrey Hills just not necessarily clubs per se.

There are a few - Tunnel Hill Trolls (Tunnel Hill obviously) BOB (Berks on Bikes - Swinley).
The Trolls are pretty relaxed and anyone is welcome to join in. BOB are a bit berky and you have to be approved on a ride to join.
I don't do clubs and joining, but have a look in London Calling - regular rides arranged in Surrey Hills, Swinley, Tunnel Hill, and trips to Wales, Aston etc.
And they're not choosy - they even let me ride.

As said, plenty of informal groups who ride about. London Calling thread here is just a loose groups of people who arrange rides. Nothing formal, no club, a bit disorganised perhaps but it's all relaxed and whatever pace suits. Basically watch for posts in there on rides or just stick something up saying you're planning on going somewhere and people will join you.

Muddy Moles is another group (club?), and there's a fair few other groups I've seen about with club kit on but forget who they are.

There are also shop rides, like (in Surrey Hills) Nirvana Cycles, Pedal & Spoke. May need to see what kind of ride they're doing as some proper gnarly dudes there hucking off massive gaps. They do normal stuff too :D (and they can lend/demo bikes and generally try to flog you nice expensive stuff).

Evans do rides, more XC oriented and might take in a lot of bridleways and fireroads.

Heard bad things about Nirvana rides - keep up or they just leave you behind.

This they do, also don't visit their shop either, spend a grand or get the hell out!

Bigfoot Bikes in Hayes do some evening off-roading on Tuesdays & Thursdays IIRC.
