Pendleton & Varnish - which rule did they break?

Is anyone able to quote the rule that they apparently broke? I cannot see such a rule in the UCI Rules for team sprints, at least as they are published on the UCI website. Are there additional/supplementary rules elsewhere?

I believe it was introduced earlier this year (March?). Wouldn't surprise me if the UCI website isn't up-to-date.0

How about this one:
3.2.152 The leading rider shall lead the first lap ...0 -

Ah yes, that must be it. I suppose that fits with the commissaires apparently announcing that they were going to apply it ruthlessly at the world championships (according to Boardmans commentary last night). It could be more prescriptive though, particularly as there is no right of appeal/protest0 -
Rules tough, but fair, though seems a tad off for Victoria Pendleton to lay most of the blame at her colleague, Jess Varnish

What I don't follow is the reason for the women's sprint to be totally different from the men's, a pair instead of a trio.0 -

Probably for the same reason as the women's team pursuit having 3 riders rather than 4. When that was first introduced at world cup level it had 4 riders, like the mens. But very few nations could put a team together as they didn't have the riders avaliable. So they dropped it down to 3 so more countries could take part. Guessing the team sprint is the same. Just not as many women taking part as men.0 -

I assume that's because the lead rider can see the changeover zone, so should pull over at the right point to let the final rider come through?Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.0 -
