Knee / Shins for 'Larger' Legs!

After trying a few pairs of L/XL pads I'm still struggling to find ones to fit my legs. Third ones have arrived today, Fox Launch Pro Knee Shins (Link) and whilst they look the nutts, they don't wrap round my girth! I'm at a loss, as I cant be the only beefcake out there - at this rate I'm tempted to go to my local taylor and ask them to bodge it!
Any other XL Legged MTB'ers out there have a solution? Wasn't such an issue until I came off on Saturday @ Dalby! Now the misses insists I get protected before going out to play again! Suggestions greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!

I also have quite large legs. I use 661 Kyle Strait knee pads. Good fit but not great quality, mine have only lasted one season.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

I've got big old quads and got O'Neal knee pads and they do the business.
I had to try a few pairs on to get some I was happy with though, pads are definitely something to use the LBS for.0 -
Cheers for the feedback! Will be having a trip to the LBS's this weekend methinks!
I did spot these: Troy Lee Designs T-Bone Knee Guards - But will look local first. I hate the delay from ordering, waiting for postie, then having to return them!!
Thanks!0
