Inspiring a generation?
Wiggo at the end of the TT:
-
Barely a congratulations to Froome on the podium - and that seemed more to rub in the win.
Completely snubbing Martin on leaving the podium, going round the back of him without so much as a handshake or slap on the back.
Waving away the two little kids, about 10yos, that ran up to him for autographs when he stopped on his 'victory lap'. Watch the post-vistory celebrations on iPlayer and you'll see what I mean.

I'm no Wiggins fan, but he
- Waited for Chinny to finish before celebrating
- Had a chat / hug with Tony Martin at the finish line
So he showed a lot of sportsmanship.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

Wasn't this when he was trying to find his wife and kids who he thought were at the finish line and him trying to escape getting mobbed?"Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"

I don't really see what the badminton players did that was so wrong. Seems to me that it was the rules of their competition that were wrong and it should be the officals who devised it who should be sent home.0 -

Apparently, this scenario was predicted by people who objected to the inclusion of a round robin. The referees laughed them out.
It's a problem for paying spectators.0 -

The badminton ruling is a farce. It's more the fault of the format then the players.
What what happen in a scenario (I'll use football)say Arsenal win the last group stage which would mean they play Manchester United in the next round or lose and play Dagenham & Redbridge in the next round.... what would happen.....
To say everyone must try their best can often depend on your perspective on likely you are going to medal....0 -

Sure, I can understand why the spectators would be a bit annoyed, especially with how difficult it is to get tickets, but it really isn't the players fault. Anyway, this is a bit off topic. Brad seems a pretty descent bloke to me, he even seem a bit embarased when I wished him good luck when he got back to his hotel the day before the time trial at Besancon.0 -

I suggest you go and double check the victory ceremony on iplayer and get your facts right!0 -

Same happened in the canoeing but nobody batted an eyelid. Instead the commentators said it was sensible.
One guy was about to win the heat but did not want the pressure of going last in the semis so he coasted for the last few yards. Not really much difference to the badminton from a competitiveness pint of view, the only difference being from a spectators point of view which is the issue being taken.
PS Nothing wrong with what Brad did but the frostiness with Froomey continued. Hopefully the Vuelta will get it out of his (Froomey's) system0 -

So you missed him absolutely not snubbing Martin - both of them giving each other a congratulatory hug.
You missed him approaching Froome to congratulate him and, if anything, froome being a bit cold towards Wiggins.
The kids I've already mentioned.

So many people are waiting to jump on you at the slightest show of doing something not exactly how they want it.
How many steps are you away from being the freak that sent abuse to Tom Daley?
You may think thats a bit strong but theres been a similar p@ssing and whining about Paula Radcliffe on another subject. Christ why does everyone think they are the arbiters of other peoples behaviour.
Maybe its a natural progression from our cult of celebrity nonsense in this country?Death or Glory- Just another Story0 -

Why post in the first place when your complaint is based on only segments of the event?! Watch it again, and then we all expect you to write a grovelling apology to Wiggo!2011 Trek Madone 3.1c

What I like to see, however, is, I'm afraid, what you don't: anything but a PR-perfect robot, sanitised to within an inch of their personality to please some fucking corporation, and, largely in turn, the sanctimonious, over-zealous, religious, tabloid-addled - as the case may be - foot soldiers in the cause of things Good, Moral and Proper. Like, apparently, yourself. You're a dick, not because you dislike so many things, but because - I'd bet - you wish to deprive me of them.1968, human content on bitumen.0 -

My live feed died before Cancellara crossed the line and it wouldn't come back up. What I saw later of the post-race was only Wiggins on the podium and riding back out, so from those pictures that's what I relayed in my op. I'm not "getting off", "dissing" anyone or being "sad". It's a great achievement.
So you didn't even see it but still wanted to criticise Wiggins then ?The UCI are Clowns and Fools0
