My chainset, FSA slk light, has come away from the spindle on the drive side so is basically knackered. Looking at chainsets I'm Dow to the 3D+ which I really do like the look of, or the k-force light which is a bargain on chain reaction. Just looking to see how people would rate the two.

I found the s-lk light super smooth but almost soft if that makes sense, the Rotor 3D super stiff and super smooth

I have the 3D (not the 3D+) and the k force light. The Rotor has a simple pinch bolt design for the non drive side arm. The FSA design is very poor and needs to be installed carefully to prevent it working loose. There's a reason they are cheap on CRC...
  • I did think a 60% reduction in price was a bit too good. Looks like the 3D+ for me especially as they were what I was leaning towards anyway.

The FSA's are extremely light if thats a consideration :?:
  • Not too fussed with the weight in all honesty. I'm more interested in longevity and seeing as my current fsa has come away from the spindle I'm a bit dubious by them. Also stiffness is an issue

I put 3D+ with Q rings on my Stealth and think its great. Looks the business and very well made. but not worth the extra cost over a Dura Ace chainset and I got mine cheap (260 for the cranks and 120 for chainrings) Its alot of money but I needed BB30. Never used FSA K force light

if you WERE bothered by weight comparisions tho, I'd be surprised if the FSA is lighter than the Rotor!
    Crafted in Italy apparantly
  • Had a nice tax rebate today so have ordered the rotor 3D+. Managed to get them for 295 brand new so I can't grumble at that :)
