I was there for the opening day on 21.07.12, this place is brilliant!
When i went they had 4 out the 6 trails open as they were just finishing the others off. The centre should be open soon depending on the weather for building.
The blue route is really flowy with a few of red features. The red routes are very good with some great jump sections. The black route is awesome plenty for everyone, some of the guys on there were hitting the jumps and getting massive air.

The uplift service was great. Really easy with short waits, the staff are very friendly we even had locals out asking how we were getting on seems like its big thing in the area and means alot to the locals.

One thing I would say is take plently of tubes the slate is still new and pretty sharp, pretty much everone went though at least 1.

Im going back 18.08.12 and cant wait, I normally ride coed llangdela and coed y brenin and the down hill sections at Antur Stiniog are better than all the routes on the coeds (the new section at llangdela is brilliant though)

Check out the facebook page and join the group Antur Stioniog DH + Freeride Centre as they have loads of pics and some great GoPro vids. For £26 for the day its well worth a trip!

Yep I remember, I was on the blue specialized. Top day. Graded to Maxxis duel plys and downhill tubes try to limit the punctures this time

It's just amazing how none of those rock sections show up on the GoPro videos.

I hope the wind eases off for you guys, it's been really bad here the last few days, I can only imagine that up in Blaenau it's going to be far worse.

    What a couple of days!

Friday did penmachno in frankly sh1te weather, we wouldn't of been wetter if we'd of gone swimming with our kit on, but it was fantastic!
Few too many beers and no sleep in betws y coed, then on to Antur this morning. Grim, horrible, were the only words to describe it. Then, about 10:30 it cleared up..
5 runs on the blue to get into things, then the red afew times after lunch, then a steady run down the b lack, all done in glorious sunshine form lunch onwards.
What a day, what a place!

For those doubting the gnarr'ness of the place, get there, hit it hard and report back!

You can not compare this place to normal trail centres, yes "most" is rollable - some are definately not, but the trails are awesome.
The 3rd (black) run has enough to keep the pro's happy.

Oh yeah, on that note Josh Bryceland, Santa Cruz rider was there all day ripping it up!

Can't wait to return and unfortunately I'm now going to be even more financially worse off as I'll be looking for a DH rig.

    Awesome, awesome, awesome! :)

You need to ride it before judgment we were three of only 5 hard tails there on the day the rest being Big bikes, and having ridden Lee,Gisburn & Landegla there is no comparison, i have never seen so many broken and punctured bikes in one day and i won't go into what happened to me. Also you are not allowed on the black without a full face helmet so i didn't attempt that.
