Changing tyres

I currently have some Continental Ultras that came as stock with my bike... After both tyres splitting in the same weekend I am looking about and am not sure what to get as replacements... Up until now I have had no real problem with the Continental Ultras but I know I can get a lot better, but there is so much choice... :?
Any recommendations would be really appreciated...
PS. I am not a racer, just a keen weekend cyclist and don't shoot me but I like the fact my continentals are white

TBH I thought I'd ordered the 4000s' ...
So far so good - certainly got a couple of PRs since changing from the Armadillos - but that could just be because I'm riding harder! I'll know how well they go when I get 1500 miles on them - the Arma's only lasted that long0
