My brother is looking at buying this second hand and cannot find much about it online. Apparently it is a 2006 frame and has Thompson Stem, Chris King Headset, XTR Groupset, Hope M4 disks, with rockshox suspension.
He says it was £4300 new and will sell it for £500. Is this a pure downhill bike or good enough for xc and trail riding? Can anybody tell me about the bike, ie handling caracteristics.
Sorry I can't give anymore information.

RM7 was a freeride bike (richie schley aided design?) - thought they made it after 2003 but not much after. Basically it predates the internet which is why you cant find much on line about it!
There are a bunch of reviews on mtbr but they are always hit and miss - found this on [whisper]bikemagic.com[/whisper] - http://bikemagic.com/gear/bike-reviews/rocky-mountain-rm7.html
If its what you want and its suspension components are fubarred then sure 500 bucks might work. However, my guess is its crap, not worth the money and best avoided.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
It's a pretty old bike, was alright in the day, but pretty outdated now. Certainly not suitable for XC/trail riding as it has miles too much travel and will weigh as much as a small planet.0
