Wheel upgrade advice - Will I really notice the 215 grammes?

Looking to ditch the Bontrager SSR wheelset that came with my Ribble 7005.

I like the look of Mavic Cosmic Elite:

But for the same price, I could shave another 215 grammes off the weight by going with the Fulcrum 3:

Question is, will I really notice this weight difference?

Any help, much appreciated.

*Of course, I could always go for the Kysrium elites (If I'm to spend £300, what's another £100 to the wife!?)

It depends where you are saving the weight... if you get a set of hubs 215 grams lighter, chances are there won't be any difference... what you want are lighter rims...
The cosmic elite do have heavy rims, hence I would avoid them
With hand builds is a bit easier, as any component can be chosen and I know the exact weight of every rim I use. WIth factory wheels, is often an act of faith, as rarely manufacturers break the weight down into components.
Generally speaking, high profile rims in alloy are heavy, with a few exceptions

    Thanks Ugo.

Hmm, might have a wander down to Condor's at lunchtime tomorrow to see what they have in stock – otherwise I'll start researching hand built wheels too.

Thanks for the advice though, much appreciated.

Get the Ksyrium Elites and enjoy them. Or at the same weight you could get Shimano RS80s for about 295. I went from 1900g to 1500g wheels and there was a very noticeable difference in acceleration and climbing. I bought Pro-Lite Braccianos when they were 185 quid, great wheels but they're over 300 now!
