crank noise

i am getting a crunching sound on my bottom crank do anyone know if i will have to replace
whole of bootom bracket sorry if this is basic question new to working on bikes it is a gt aggressor mountain bike

    Best to take BB out, then inspect. But does sound like bb bearings
