I am 6 foot tall, 42 inch waist, 50 chest - long in the torso (only 30.5 inch inside leg) - does anyone know if there is any chance Assos TIR bib shorts would fit me? I can only find references to height and chest for sizing -

http://www.assosfactoryoutlet.com/page/sizing

The XLGs are for 6 foot 2-4 + and the TIR are the same but
wider
. For TIR the upper chest limit is 46.5 + but how much + is there in that + ? I am longer in the torso so would the height be ok but I need the 46.5cm + chest TIR size to translate to 50 inch chest and 42 waist

Really fancy the comfort (based on the Assos rep) but wary of ordering and cannot find an LBS that has stock to try ...

I was in a similar position a couple of years ago but not quite as large as you quote for your good self :D I know it's not round the corner but Biketraks bike shop in Great Ayton stock Assos and I found them really helpful. Tried for size and then bought off them as they matched the best Internet price I could find at that time which was from Ribble.

Only a half hour run down the A66, A19 and A174.

  • Thanks ALaPlage I will give them a call and see if they have any TIRs in stock to try.

Hi - I have Assos shorts in TIR size....I bought them in 2010 and they have been the best shorts I have ever owned. I'm 6' 5" with 34" inside leg - and back in 2010 was 20 stone with a 50" chest and a 40" waist and they fit no problem.
I bought them from Brian Rourke's in Stoke and tried them on before buying. Based on my experience TIR will easily fit you.

    Pete.
  • Thanks Peejay56 Pete - sounds like as long as they can cope with my extra couple of inches round the waist (until I lose that in the next months as well 8) ) they should be fine as our torso's must be pretty much the same length.

Excellent thanks for the help (now how to explain £100 plus on shorts to the missus ... ).
