On her silver medal.

Again it's the cyclists that have got the GB up and running in the olympic medal table.

Good on her.

Brilliant. No disgrace at all coming second in that company and out performed many behind her who would have medal aspirations.

+1. watched the last 60km on tv - she worked REALLY hard on that break. That will secure her contract for some time to come - top job Lizzie...

Question is where did she go first after crossing the line, dope test or nail salon?

Agreed - a corking ride from Lizzie, coming home runner-up to one of the very best in the business is no mean feat. Especially given the less-than-brilliant weather.

I was out riding in the area while the women's race was on - the rain was amazing! I'm not surpised there were so many crashes and offs - very challenging conditions.

That's pretty insulting, isn't it? One of the best races of her life, and all you've got is a throwaway remark about her having good nails?

No wonder Vicky P was scared of losing her femininity.

Great ride by Armitstead, and lots of credit to Emma Pooley too for keeping the pace high around Box Hill and disrupting the bunch.
