I just bought a rather Nice Merc C220 Estate, Brilliantly comfy, loads of space and with only 42K on the clock it cost me £8K

Passat or Legacy. Had both, equally reliable (absolutely nothing wrong with either of them despite six figure mileages).

The Passat is just brilliant. It's comfortable for anyone in it (my 6'5" son can quite happily sit behind me and I'm 6'4") it's got a massive load space (bike in without removing wheels), it does 50mpg almost regardless of driving style. Dirt cheap to insure and service. In fact it's so good that I'm struggling to justify getting rid of it.
    Trail fun - Transition Bandit
Road - Wilier Izoard Centaur/Cube Agree C62 Disc
    Allround - Cotic Solaris

The T3 VW Toureg. The 3.0 V6 TDi gives excellent mpg and is now in the low VEL band unlike other SUVs.

I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.
