Hi folks,
Looking to buy my first proper road bike, been looking at loads and really like the look of the Trek madone 3.1.
So the question is, is this a good first roadie for someone looking to get into road riding ? I'm no spring chicken btw at 47
Anything I should know about it that I haven't read and would it suit, as I won't be doing any racing or that stuff.

Great bike. Comfortable and light.
My advice would be to try a few different bikes out in your price range, for size, feel and fit to be sure you get the one that's right for you. The Trek Madone range are great bikes but also worth a look at the Cube Agree GTC and there are others too.
Then buy the TrekTrek Madone 5.9

The Madone 3.1 is a great bike. You will not be disappointed.
Also at the mo there are some bargains to be had.
Get onto Royles website and check out their online prices.

Great value but you also qualify for an extra 20% discount if you use the code SOS20.
This puts a Trek Madone 3.1 at £1080. Hard to beat anywhere for price and quality.
They're based in Wilmslow so you would need to travel to pick up the bike but at that price it's a bargain.0
