Mavic crossride

I have been asked to fix a Mavic Crossride rear wheel. It's about 18 month old and in a right state. It hasn't been abused, The problem is every spoke has rusted where it meets the nipple. Mavic supply spokes in sets of 12 only and recommends they are all replaced. sounds a bit fishy to me. Anyone know of a product recall or warranty issue with these wheels?

Not heard of any recall. Has the rider used it on the roads and in road salt?
