As I'm in need of new brakes badly it only just occurred to me I need new shifters as my brakes and shifters are all in one at the minute.

What is a good set ? I have a 8 speed rear cassette and 3 cogs upfront.

Sorry for being a pain and asking all th questions

Bit limited by good. Any just make sure it's a 3 and 8 made by your mech maker.

If you are going to stick with 8 speed then get something like Shimano Alivio 8 speed. Cheap as chips and decent.

If you decide to go 9 speed or 10 then you cant go wrong with Deore.

If your gears are SRAM then x5 shifters or x7

No point. Perhaps look for a second hand set. Might get some lx or xt

Indeed! Theres always shifters and cranks going reasonably cheap.

Just get some 8 speed jobs for now though.

I meant upgrading to 9or 10 speed in future the 8 is fine at the minute it has got me where I need to go.

I guess when it's time I completely ditch the crank, cassette and go with a whole new set up.
