As the title suggests,I am quite new to cycling but am completely hooked and obsessed!I did a 25 mile ride today on the flat which is my longest ride so far,(I know this isn't much to some but we all have to start somewhere!).
These are my stats Distance-25 miles
Time-1 hr 34 mins
ave speed-15.4mph
mxs 22.2
I wasn't very puffed (I have a reasonable base level of fitness) out but my legs were really feeling it by the end.I just wondered if I'm on the right track with these stats,do I just keep on riding, increasing my distance or speed or both.
Thanks.

Water is fine, try some squash for flavour. Sports drinks contain too much sugar and there is no evidence that they boost the performance for anyone but top athletes. Source.
Milk is good after a ride, apparently helps your muscles to recover. Source. if you don't like plain milk, try adding a flavouring such as chocolate or banana.
Also good low fat foods with lots of carbohydrates like porridge, pasta, bananas, fig rolls etc.
