I sit at my computer trawling through the classified on here looking for pointless crap to buy for the bike just for the sake of it. Isn't it fun !!

  • I'm wondering if a set of summer road tyres will make my bike faster!Prob not but they would be better than what's on there at the mo!I love window shopping for my bike.

Pretty much everything I've bought off Ebay. Which has always been a post pub impulse bid at 1 am.

I wake up in the morning hoping that I've been out bid.

They should make it law that you have to pass a breathalyser test before you can use Ebay.

A savings account. When used properly you'll find that the timing of payday is irrelevant to you - so you can waste money every day, not just on payday.

A Raleigh Bananna. Ebay purchase after a few shandies. Didn't even check the size and realized it was bloody massive when I went to fetch it. I sold it on to a mate who lost it in a bet only for his employee to inadvertently buy it back off Ebay.

i think mine is probably the two carbon fiber bottle cages! I've always thought it was pointless saving about 2g of weight when all you are going to do is fill it with 1kg of water! but they were on offer so it would have been rude not to really!!!

But I've always fancied one of those posh track pumps like this one:
    cnc_floor_drive_l.png
    or this one:
    3666

but I think that would be excessive when pumps 1/2 the price get the job done fine. and unlike something like shoes, glasses, garmin etc. which you will spend a lot of time using.. a pump is for 2 mins before each ride.

My most ridiculous purchase was when I got my first ever paycheck through when I was 16 I ordered a custom length Standard 250S BMX frame from the States. By the time I'd paid for that, extra for custom back end and TT length, paid import duty and bought a new BB and Chris King Headset I'd spent nearly £800.
Unfortunately I have to be a bit more budget conscious nowadays with having a mortgage. Don't think my entire road bike, plus shoes, helmet, clothes etc, basically everything I've bought to date road cycling adds up to anywhere near £800 yet
