Took the plunge and bought my new bike today

went for a focus cayo 3 which i should be able to pick up on wednesday.

i was really considering the specialised roubaix but i decided to go with the focus in the end. both bikes were the same price so it was a hard choice.

i got 10% off so with the money bought some spd pedals, a few jerseys and a 2 pairs of bib shorts and some cycling socks in the sale section. i already have small spd's on my mountain bike but bought some flat types ones so i can still use my MTB shoes but have a larger pedal for road riding

i will get some proper shoes and road pedals later - they are MUCH lighter and stiffer but that can wait.

all i need now is a mini pump, a couple of spare tubes, water bottle and cage etc.

i already have a multi tool/tyre lever and saddle bags on my mountain bike which i will re use.

really looking forward to getting out on it if the weather picks up a bit!

Well done, life is SOOOO much easier and more enjoyable with decent kit.

So you'll be getting proper pedals and shoes as soon as........ :)

thanks - yeah i guess MTB shoes aren't ideal but i will wait and see what i get for my birthday!

i saw some decent scott road shoes today half price for about £45 so they would have ben ideal.
  • Good choice sir - may not be the lightest, but it is well made, has good components for the price and has done me well since I got mine in Dec ( 1 sportive and 1,300 miles later it's still as sweetly running ).

Don't worry about the weather, just get out there !
All the gear, but no idea...
