Saddle came loose whilst riding...

Hi,
Went out on a club ride last night and after 30 miles all of a sudden my saddle went backwards and the bolt nearest the seat post had come out - managed to unclip and stop without falling off!
I fixed the saddle back on at the road side and it seemed okay, when I got home I took the saddle off and one of the bolts had metal shavings falling off when I undid it so it looks like the thread inside the nut is dammaged - I can no longer get the screw to screw into the nut.
I have only had the bike for a couple of months, its a carbon fi boardman with a carbon boardman seat post - I am taking it back to halfords tonight but just wondered what is likely to have caused this and has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks
Sarah

if its only a couple of months old did you get halfords to build the bike in store?
my thoughts are bolt may have been cross threaded when fitted0 -
..I'd blame Wiggle....0

Took the seat post back to halfords today but the screws looked okay, bit of a mystery really!
Halfords have offered to replace the seat post but cannot get a replacement boardman carbon seat post so have offered me an Outland carbon seatpost (OSP102) instead - had a quick look online and it is advertised as a mountain seat post, is this okay to use on a road bike?
Should I accept the outland carbon seat post or is it not a good seat post?0 -
If it's the right diameter and the clamp fits your saddle rails then it should be OK. Might even be less likely to come undone if it's designed for MTB use...0
