Apologies if someone else picked this up, but I've finally watched the final stage of the Tour and couldn't face reading all the spoiler thread.

Basically, what was Horner doing following Hincapie when Sky gave him the nudge to be first across the line on the first circuit of the Champs Elysee? Was he ruining his moment in the sun and farewell to the Tour cos Hincapie has grassed on a certain Texan? Or am I reading waaaay to much into this?
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

I thought it was Horner's last Tour as well, though I might be wrong.

Horner said he's likely to continue. Chris was just stealing Georgiboy's thunder.

Cheeky monkey - could have sworn I'd read somewhere he was finishing.

Great send off for Big George though - reckon he's got a tough autumn ahead of him though...

Maybe he just thought he was breaking away and wanted to follow? I didn't watch that part so don't know whether it was 'obvious' that Big Hin Cap was out for the glory.

He went past the Sky train smiling and talking to them, and was almost soft pedalling about 20m off the front up towards the line, looked nothing like a break.

I thought it looked fairly disrespectful considering how obvious it was what they were trying to do.

To be fair to Horner ... GH, Levi etc. will likely have ended his career, can't see another team picking him up when RSNT go to the wall at the end of the year ...

The thing with Hincapie is he was willing to keep schtum and take the big bucks and is now happy to piss in eveyryone elses bidon ...

As I said elsewhere, BMC were only 36 minutes down on the team competition, that break needed covering to protect the all important prize...
