Enigma Esprit

Some nice kit on there - I actually went to Enigma's site to get a head tube badge for mine when I saw it  Also how are you finding the chainset? I'm tempted but there are reports out on the net that is isn't very stiff and can creak or click
Some people have commented on the apparent small amount of seat post showing. Mine looks similar and I've come to the conclusion that it is in part down to the large diameter seatpost (31.8mm), in part due to the seat collar instead of traditional steel brazed on seatpost bolts, and in part down to the huge tubes. The seat tube on mine extends 2cm above the top tube so if anyone is looking at buying an Enigma Esprit it is worth bearing in mind the difference between the centre to centre measurement and the cetnre to top of top tube, and the extra 2 cm for centre to end of seat tube. I was debating whether I should have gone for a smaller size with more spacers on the steerer. Position would be the same, it would just be aesthetics.
I'm a fan of the deep section wheels (I love the cosmic carbons on mine). Shallow rim hand builts can look odd against the huge tube sizes!
I've had mine for 3 years now - Love the lack of paint with titanium as it is so easy to look after - I just use a plastic pan scourer to get the brushed look back. Riding over cobbles with the chain slapping off the chainstay doesn't make me wince any more! You'll use metal polish often as you've shined yours up though!
I think I prefer the new straight seat stays over the curved ones on the older model too.0 -
These titanium bikes are really growing on me now. I still don't like the round frames (I love the new huge carbon downtubes and curved top-tubes etc), but seeing a Moda Solo titanium in the flesh has kinda changed my mind. They look really nice. Also if I had a lot of money to spend on a bike I would almost certainly choose titanium over carbon...

I much prefer this one. I think it's a smaller frame but it looks right. The OP's one (although still amazing) looks a bit out of proportion.

I saw similar reviews, but to be honest haven't noticed any lack of stiffness. They're plenty stiff enough, even when honking up te hills. As for creaking or clicking, I've done a few hundred miles so far and they haven't ade a sound. Great cranks.Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

But a smaller frame wouldn't have fit me.
To be honest, the one above looks proportionally like mine does. As mentioned in earlier, the angle I've taken the pic from isn't good, so it makes the saddle look lower than it is. There's also 30mm of spacers under the stem in my pic, I've dropped that to 20mm since. The amount of seat post showing is about the same, it's just that Alan has fewer spacers under the stem than I do.Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

Thanks for the review of the cranks, they are a good price right now, but I don't *need* them! They look much better than shimano cranks though.
I measured my frame and the seat tube is 60cm long. Saddle is 76cm high so yeah, set up is fairly similar in terms of proportion. I reckon the 59 in the current sizes would be spot on for me, but when i got mine the sizes went up in even increments (i.e. 58 or 60). I'm about 185 cm tall.0 -
Lovely looking bike! I actually spotted it on Enigma's Facebook page first then thought I'd have a look here to see if anyone had one.
I'm presently dreaming about a treat bike for next year and am loving the mix of retro and modern styling on the Esprit. There's always a Roberts Master Pro as a steel alternative to consider too...0
