AM rear wheel - CRC custom build, LBS complete or eBay?

So my rear wheel's sh*gged and I need a new one pronto. It's my first time buying a wheel and the multitude of options are melting my mind. The steed's 2010 Remedy 7, so I'm replacing a Bonty Duster. I need something that'll take 2.3" tyres, (or thereabouts) and will handle the occasional clumsy landings. I need a new SRAM 9 speed sprocket set as well. I've checked out CRC's custom build option and it seems to be good value, but I've heard of people getting absolute steals on eBay. I'm tempted to be faithful to my LBS - also because it's a short and sweet option. Can anyone recommend the best way to get a Duster equivalent - preferably an upgrade - for the best price? Is it worth my while buying a wheelset because it might work out cheaper in the long run? Yep.... my brain's just about given up the ghost. Help me! :?
