Having watched Team Sky do so well this Tour de France, as well as being on mainstream tv as well. Does anyone think like me that Pinarello's will be flying out the shops? On another note why did Sky go with Pinarello anyway and what was in it for them?

Pinarello paid them the most money? Sky Italia is quite heavily involved in Team Sky too I believe......who knows whether or not they'll fly off the shelves-they look awful and are very expensive though.

I understand that the BDA already obliges dentists to posses a full stable, so I'm unsure where the additional demand will come from.

    Quite like the Pinarello's myself.

Had a good look at them when we bumped into Wiggins, etc at the Nationals in 2010 in Stamfordham. They went past us like we were standing still.

    Nice but pricey.

Movistar were also on Pinarellos - but they didnt quite set the race alight.

    Its not about the bike.

I would never buy one again, try getting support or back up from yellow and the fat man !! :D Way too expensive anyway for what they are.

I think you'll find the team would rather have been riding something else.

I think they will be very popular, In Australia we seemed to have a boom in BMC bikes after Cadel won.

I think that it would be a great idea for these companies to offer a yellow bike at a reasonable cost so the average cyclist can get on their brand for a reasonable cost. Something with a 105 groupo would be a great starting point, with a Wiggo autograph sticker.

That's is a ridiculous thing to say. What would Pinarello /Sky/Wiggins/Froome have to gain from race fixing??

The same reason Pinarello sponsor more than one team ...

No, sponsoring two teams is legal, race fixing would destroy all their good publicity if caught and in this situation it would gain them no extra exposure...

Haha, nathan, are you new to cycling? Race 'fixing', or favours / gentleman's agreements are very much a part of pro cycling.

Yeah but SKY are making a big noise about being different to all that and this is not some criterium.

Anyway you are suggesting that Froome was jumping about on his bike like a monkey pretending to urge Wiggins on just to cover up the fact that Pinarello had asked Brailsford to let a unreformed doper win a stage of the tour so that their bike could be seen as the winning bike when the 2nd and 3rd place bikes (1st and 2nd in GC) rode the same bikes and would gain much more attention. Froome then got his girlfriend to rant on Twitter about how her man had been done down just to cover up the fact that Froome and Wiggins and Sky had all thrown the stage.

Anyway, I am sure you are right and however ridiculous that scenario is, that is what happened simply because.

Yes... because Sky would risk their Tour win for the sake of a bike sponsor  you must be out of your mind!
