Being sick ?

Hey , I went out for a ride today with a friend. The route was very hilly and it soon got me tired . So I was trying to ride up a ramp onto a bridge and I collapsed at the top and started to be sick . It wasn't very nice ( ) Anyway , I started shaking and trying to ride back home before colliding with the rear of my friends bike and breaking a few of my spokes.
Is it normal to be sick when you do stuff that your body is not used to ? And how can I prevent it ?

I find that sugary drinks help me avoid feeling sick during high intensity workouts.0 -
Sounds like you took on a ride your body couldn't handle!0

The trick is to swallow it back down and crack on again.0

I'll edit my above comment to "your legs wrote a cheque that your body couldn't cash"!0

No, it's not "normal", however, its not uncommon for very intense exercise to make people vomit.0
