Pedals: Exustar vs. Shimano

I've been looking to get some new SPD pedals and was going to go with the standard Shimano SPD, but then noticed that rarely mentioned name, Exustar.

How do Exustar hold up against other brand pedals?

I have been looking at these two pedals:

Any thoughts?
