Good in a straight line over rough terrain but not so great in the corners due to its veeery long wheelbase. I used to have a 2010 one, it was pretty heavy and sluggish for what it was i thought.

But it is confidence inspiring on rough and jumps/drops.

I've got a Pitch, it corners just fine, switch backs are tight but easily manageable.

I can't see me replacing it anytime soon tbh, great all rounder.

It doesn't suffer from excessive pedal bob while seated but I'd recommend a shock with some kind of pro pedal feature.

I didn't realise notice it till i bought a stumpjumper which is just as good at rough stuff but also better at cornering and less sluggish. Its just pricier unfortunately.

I imagine it will be more the components making the stumpy more agile. My mate had a Pitch, since selling it he has had several bikes including the lowest spec Stumpjumper and says he wishes he hadn't sold the Pitch!

I think (very) generally speaking longer wheel base equals more stable at speed/cornering.

I have a Pitch Pro and love it! I dont find it sluggish in the corners and climbs pretty well too given the extra weight. Ive given ridden it on DH tracks, trail centres and out on the moors and it takes it all in its stride.
