Hi all,

I've used a 11-28 SRAMPC 1070 for a while now on my bike with a compact SRAM red chainset. No issues really, I have a rival rear mech short cage.

I haven't used my bike for a year! Been out of the UK and yesterday fitted a new cassette. I didn't chnage the derailuer settings but now I have this annoying rubbing when I shift to the 28 sprocket. I think that it is the jockey wheel not being far enough back? But not sure?? I have tried screwing in the screw as far as I can to move it back but to no avail!

HELP

you aren't using the 50/28 front/rear combination are you?

    on 34/28 check...

is there enough clearance between front mech cage and the chain

is there at least 6mm clearance between the jockey wheel teeth and the cassette teeth

this document has complete instructions for sram front/rear mech set up, best thing is to go through it, after a year it's quite possible that things have drifted due to cable stretch etc.

  • Hi no using 34 inner ring at the front.

I've had to put an 11-26 on as I have concluded that you can't use a 28 with a normal short cage mech, anyone care to disagree? Is it possible?

a sram rival rear mech is specified to work with 28t max sprocket and has 33t capacity...

    http://www.sram.com/sites/default/files ... -rev-a.pdf

with 50-34 and 11-28 the capacity of your drivetrain is 33t, so it should be fine

something is worn/damaged/bunged-up, or the adjustment is wrong

have you gone through the sram set-up instructions for chain length and rear mech?
