Compatibility of Shimano external bearing BBs

Assuming you've selected the right one for the width of the BB and the thread type, is it right that any Shimano Hollowtech II bottom bracket is sompatible with any Shimano Hollowtech II crankset?

    any MTB for MTB and Road for Road.

    and with only is an issue if it is not 68 or 73mm
