Looking for a small descreet mudguard for the front and back of my bike (after getting a facefull the other day!).

So i'm trying to decided between RR Neoguard or the Mucky Nutz Bender Fender...

Just wondering what everyones opinions were as to which I should go for?

Ta :)

Depends on how much clearance you have between your fork arch and tyre. If you don't have that much use the RRP, if you have loads then go for the Mucky Nutz. The Mucky Nutz works better at keeping mud out of your eyes but I destroyed mine when it was really muddy at a race as it got caught on the tyre and ripped apart. The RRP means you get a lot more stuff on you fork seals as well though so I tend to take it off when it's drier.

I prefer MN as it protects the stanchions a bit more, but I do get little fir cones and stuff getting picked up by the tyre and getting stuck. No big deal really.

hmmm MN it is then, and its cheaper... will it fit the back too? :)

Depends, will probably fit but whether it does anything is another story. I got sent a white one by mistake, they sent me a black one and let me keep the white one so I tried it on the back of my full sus Kona. Fitted but was in the wrong place to actually do anything.

I don't have anything on the back, just the front to keep sh1t out of my eyes.

Mucky nutz now do the butt fender for the back. I've got one and I rate it highly.

I don't need a full length mudguard, and the butt fender is designed to just keep the worst of it out of your lower back and ass-crack, which it does really well.

The mucky nutz seems like a better idea on paper, as it protects your stanchions too, however I've tried neither. I just use a cut up bit of inner tube cable tied between my arch and crown, which does work really well at keeping crap out of my eyes, especially given that I've essentially spent nothing on it.

I've used both types and MN does a better job and (as above) keeps your fork stanchions nice and clean too. With the rrp, it can build up very quickly around the stanchions, which I'm sure won't help long term.

Or these ones for the rear too, as CWNT says keeps your crack crud free. Not as clean as with a Crud Guard but a lot more discreet and doesn't flap about.

That's identical to the butt-fender from the looks of it, possibly slightly longer.

How do you get off the back of the saddle with one of those saddle mounted things. Wouldnt fancy hooking my plums on one of them half way down a steep drop.

Oh by the way tried RRP and Muckynutz and the MN is much better. Lot of money for a piece of plastic and some velcro but it is neat.

it's made of the same stuff as the bender fender, so it's not too bad, tends to just sort of, fold out of the way. I'm not sure if I'd want to try it without a dropper post though.

Then you have no worries about catching your nads on the Butt Fender. Win win.

It's very flexiable, just pops out of the way.
