Hi all first post here so here goes

Been riding a Specialized Roman saddle for nearly 2 yrs and it's been the most comfortable saddle i've ever had, never once had a sore arse from riding it even after 8 hrs.

But now the last few weeks it's killing me, i've no saddle sores and i've started using cream before i go out, feels like one of the bones has gone very sore for some reason, anyone else ever have a saddle suddenly cause them pain for no apparent reason ?

    First thing to check is that the saddle hasn't moved- up, down, left, right- all could make a difference. Also check that it hasn't moved forward or backwards on the rails.

    The other thing to check is that the saddle hasn't sagged. I know with older Spec models the plastic wasn't the best and they would wear out and lose shape, so make sure the shell isn't compromised.

    I had a similar problem a couple years back.

    Turned out to be calapsed moulding just as Grill has just suggested.

    Had me puzzled for a while....

    Had same thing on mtb saddle, again moulding had cracked so was sagging down on one side.

    Thanks for the replies, actually thought of checking the moulding on the saddle after i posted this thread, so i've checked it and everything seems to be ok no dips or cracks or anything that i can see. I did notice that the saddle is very slightly turned to the left so i've straightened it up will see on sunday if it makes any difference. Hopefully it will because i really love the saddle and don't want to go through the hassle of finding a new one.

    @Secteur

    Had a look at Ischial Bursitis and it is very similiar to what i'm experiencing so i'm going to do some stretches and see if it helps too. Thanks for the reply never would have thought stretching would help down there !
