I am wondering if any of you have any opinions of the best place to watch the Olympic Road Race.
I have been trying to work out which parts of the small circuit which goes up box hill are free to watch on does anybody know ?

After experiencing the event security at the test event, I'll be watching from the comfort of my sofa.0

I would say not to try and see it road side unless you have enclosure tickets... The security is mad and the numbers are so great you will struggle to see...
The Cycling Expo is also on at Box Hill and has massive led screens showing it live- it where I'll be!0 -

would also be interested in an alternative to box hill so is there any other hills on route or good places to watch .
Also will we be able to get around the route before the race on our bikes to a viewing point?0 -
The course will be pretty-well closed to all traffic from the time the race starts - you may be able to ride the course where there is minimal barriers etc. but expect they'll be keen to prevent a 'boat race' incident and therefore will be discouraging people from being on the course at all times.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

I will try to watch the race, but I don't have any expectations... The Olympic paranoia, added to london based events attitude to control your every single move will inevitably end up in a huge disappointmentleft the forum March 20230

I was in london last week and I'm sure the signs I saw said roads would be closed early morning and up to something like 6 hours after the event has finished.0 -
Roads are being shut to everything except people on foot from 6am. They will allow walking on the roads after all the riders have passed on the last lap but no riding/driving until About an hour after (can't remember the exact time!)0

Control freaks... They really don't get it that cycling has no hooligans. If they did that at the tour de France, there won't be anybody on the roadsleft the forum March 20230 -
I'm afraid that after the Boat Race and proclamations fron the anti-capitalist brigade, the Olympic RR is seen as a 'soft target' and therefore security will be particularly tight.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
