Rockshox recon silver travel

I have recon silver solo air, not TK. In the description of the bike, it said there's 120mm of travel. However, applying all my weight to the forks, I can only get them to compress by 75-80mm. Sag is about 25mm (so approx 30%ish.) This doesn't sound right to me, where do I go from here!?

so how much of the leg is visable when the fork is unweighted?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

They are only supposed to reach full travel on the largest of hits, not just applying your weight over them.
25mm from 120m is not 30% either... ;-). Maybe they are 100mm? As above, check exposed stanchion length.0 -
There is 120mm of stanchion exposed, I can't imagine getting anywhere near the full compression unless I drop off a building though!! And I meant the 30% as a proportion of what I can compress them by.
Should I expect to get some more compression out of them?0 -
Sag is what it compresses from total travel - so you are at 20% ish (should be measured stood on the bike). This is pretty low, I prefer 25-30%. Reduce air pressure a little and try 30mm (25%).0

Stood on the bike is a bit difficult, but it seems to compress by about 50mm. That sounds too much now?0

I think the best thing to do is go and ride them, but take the pump. Ride a fairly rocky piece of trail and see how much travel was used. I'd expect to use 100mm on average sized rocks, 110mm over larger stuff, and nly ever 120mm when dropping a 3 feet or so or slamming into a boulder at speed.0

Cheers fella, I'll give it a go. My fork doesn't have a band round one of the stanchions though so it can be a bit difficult to tell. Just been using my girlfriend and a sharpie to draw lines on so far (they wipe off easy!) That may not be practical whilst riding :shock:0

Zip ties work well!0
