Should you lubricate PTFE coated cables?

I've bought a replacement cable for my rear derailleur and an out cable cover.

The cables are Shimano and say that they are PTFE coated. They feel very slippery.

Should I lubricate them before installing them into the new cable cover or not bother?

ptfe coating is a lubricant...the outer cables are pre-lubricated also
    Crafted in Italy apparantly

I don't add any further lube. If you are using a Shimano inner and outer they are designed to work together without the need for extra lubrication. In fact adding anything that dirt can stick too is actually bad for shifting performance long term.

Shimano actually specify that you should not lubricate ptfe coated cables.
Doing so can cause them to become sticky over time. The btfe coating will becom gungy.
