Do you consider yourself a bottom bracketER or a bottom bracketEER.
The latter for me, I think bottom bracketeer has a bit more class and va va voom about it.

I'm a knob no matter what you call me - but yes bracketeer is preferred - I suppose we could also be Bummers. The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.0 -

Bracketeer does sound much better, far more classy. For that reason alone it has to be Bracketer.0

To plagiarize the old Tom Jones song.
The young new bike radar bracketeer.
He saw commuters all lived in fear
He thought that maybe they'd listen to
A bracketeer tellin' 'em what to do.
And now he took some tits, and he took some ass
Covered in lycra and lots of class
The commuters all blushed and went away
And the bracketeer lived to post another day.Tail end Charlie

Bracket
ORIGIN late 16th cent.: from French braguette or Spanish bragueta ‘codpiece, bracket, corbel,’ from Provençal braga, from Latin braca, (plural) bracae ‘breeches.’
Can we get the 'someone' to complain about the name Bottom bracket and get one person who hardly ever posts here to suggest that it needs to be closed down as it's just too rude calling it 'Codpiece',
but wot about the children!!!!
Bracketeer sounds like bucaneer, arrr Jim Lad swab me barnacles, keel haul 'em me 'earties or something like that don't you know.my isetta is a 300cc bike0 -

What like that Army forum? Nah, far less shouting and shooting things over here.
Then again, if no one minds, we could shoot a load of communters. No one would miss them and the roads of London would be a lot more chilled out between 7:30 and 9 each morning.
Now that's a pledge that would win Boris a shed load of votes .......0
