Hi all
Anyone local to either Snowdonia or the Brecon Beacons that can share some good rides? Thinking of driving up for a long weekend soon and fancied some 50-60 mile rides... Not a massive hill climber but appreciate that in these locations it's a given that you're gonna have to do some climbing...
Also f anyone knows of any good B & Bs
Thx in advance for any help folks

In those locations you'll do well to find any flat bits - have you considered East Anglia instead :-)Yellow is the new Black.0

I'm in Cardiff and would be up for a ride around Brec. I'm a rubbish climber but the distance isn't an issue.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

I did this one when starting out on the road bike sometime back. Not excessively hilly but a long climb up to Trawsfynydd.

You could park up in Barmouth, Harlech or Dolgellau.0 -
This would be a nice ride for you.
Start in Brecon, then head out to Bronllys,Glasbury,Hay on wye, down the Golden Valley to Peterchurch, from there head for Abergavenny.
Then make you're way back to Brecon via Crickhowell, and here's a tip, don't go straight through Crickhowell, drop down and over the river and make you're way back through Llangynidr then Talybont
You would have to pick out an actual route for yourself, there are loads of country lanes or stick to main roads.
But if you have a look on the map you would get the gist of the route.
That would be a flattish route for you as well.0 -
Thx folks for these suggestions... I'll certainly look into them... Not too worried about some hills tbh... As I said, riding in these areas it's a given really that you are not gonna get too felt a run out...
Anyway thx again to all :0)0 -
hi ... sent you a pm, but i just did the two day festival of cycling. stayed at the abergavenny b&b, which was great (clean, self catering, reasonably priced). looking to go back myself in august to ride for a week or so ... very flexible, so if anyone else interested in some rides in that area let me know.
i am pretty slow (largely due to inability to descend), but am a solid climber. actually prefer routes with long, long steady climbs (that llangyndir climb was awesome!).0 -
This was a nice ride a few weeks ago- only 32mi but about 2000 or 2500ft of climbing.
