Generic frame sizing?

Hi all, i'm looking to lycra up and get a roadie.
I went and sat on a few Trek's last week and worked out that i need a 60cm frame.
I am told that all manufacturers are slightly different in size, is there a generic conversion table or similar about that would help me work out my size for various manufacturers?
Cheers

Sadly not, and different manufacturers use different specs, so a "L" in one is an "XL" in another, even going by measurements in cm.
You need to go to the manufacturers website for each brand and use the measurements there.
I'm sure an expert will be along shortly to correct me, though, but there's no substitute for trying before you buy, even if it's just sitting on it in the showroom, if you can.0 -
