This looks quite nice:

Anyone know whether it's coming to the UK (previous Carve SS's haven't) and if so, what the pricing is likely to be?

Looks like they forget gears and suspension.

Road wheels and rigid forks, is it some sort of 700c hybrid?
At least it has disc brakes.

I quite like a lot of specialized bikes, both road and mountain.

I don't like that one as it is neither a road bike nor a mountain bike.

I'd go to A&E if I was you. I suspect you may have suffered a head injury.

Looks like just the thing for the winter clag round here - no chainsuck and a minimum of other stuff to go wrong...

Meh. No chainsuck here either, and nothing went wrong over winter.
And I have a real bike.

That's either luck, or a much more rigorous maintenance routine than I can be arsed with.

Does it come with a beard? Or do they assume the user already has one?

I assume a beard is required before purchase. And sandals.

I should point out that (unlike this year's unavailable-in-the-UK frame) it's convertible to gears should nicheness not work out.

Nope. I don't take myself seriously enough to do such piffling things as "maintenance".
    Weirdo.

Typical spesh, low BB height, crap suspension.

Not round here, though I concede the weather's been a bit less awful for the last week.

It is a mountain bike. Just a very niche one.

People tend to buy niche bikes like this from niche manufacturers like Niner, Surley or Singular, not Specialized, Giant, Trek etc

And that makes a silly bike better?

True, but I'd expect the whole bike will cost less than a Niner F&F, and Trek have some form for nichedom (Fisher 29er SS; that 69er thing with the Maverick fork...)
And that makes a silly bike better?

    Why silly?

No, bearded types just wouldn't buy a Specialized (unless it's a retro single speed rigid stumpjumper with drop bars & white wall tyres)
