Giant Defy 1 or Composite 3?

Hi I am looking for my first road bike but can't decide between a Defy 1 with 105 components for £800 or the Composite 3, carbon frame but with Tiagra components for £1080.

What are your thoughts? Is it worth going for a lesser groupset for a carbon frame or going with an alu frame with a better groupset? Also are there any other endurance geometry bikes around the £800 - £1100 mark worth considering? KHS Flite (£850) or Felt Z6 (£1020) perhaps?

    where on earth can you get a defy 1 for £800? Id be sorely tempted by that! Whats the weight difference between the two? If your a relatively new rider I'd go for superior components over a little weight for sure as its more than likely you thats slowing the bike down not the bike thats slowing you down, if you get what I mean.
