Advice on xc / singletrack bike

Chaps i've got up to 1k to blow on a hardtail and have no idea what to buy. Its gonna be used for trail centers, a bit of xc enduro racing and just thrashing around singletrack. Would ideally like 120mm travel and something i can jump , chuck around a bit. Cheers

I'll have a butchers, i've found a saracen kili cromo 1 for 600 new. Any thoughts? Looks just the thing and I like steel frames
